From Investigation to Impact

  • Haughney Dare-Bryan pitched an idea to Netflix about reporting more on contaminated lettuce. When Netflix turned down the idea, she brought it to the Boston Globe Spotlight team who gave her the resources to launch a full-scale investigation into the leafy greens industry.

  • Her reporting was picked up by Nightly News with Lester Holt. Then, a production company producing a Netflix documentary called Poisoned contacted Haughney Dare-Bryan to appear as a food safety expert in its film.

  • Poisoned debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival and on Netflix globally that summer.

Poisoned quickly broke records as one of the most viewed documentaries in Netflix history, earning an Emmy.
